Catching the show were tons of showbiz glitterati
Monday night was the hottest night of the year - in every way!  Not only was New York City absolutely stifling, but the talent at Birdland was sizzling, too!  The Broadway at Birdland series was proud to present Steven Brinberg as “Simply Barbra,” one of the most hilarious and loving tributes to La Streisand on this or any other planet.  'Barbra's' Tribute to the Tony Awards co-starred the marvelous Marlene, Sian Phillips and recent Camelot star, Bobby Steggert.  Catching the show were tons of showbiz glitterati (left), including the Tony-nominated Daniel Evans (Sunday In The Park With George).
We're always so lucky to have fabulous photos taken by Mark Rupp and Steve Sorokoff. I think the one of Joan Crowe (left) is one for the history books! Looks like she was trying to cool off the crowd!
The following Cast Party was just as talent-studded, with folks like Dan Petrotta (upcoming Tale of Two Cities), Jessica Vosk & Scott Bradley, Janet Fanale, Eve Silber, Will & Anthony Nunziata, Malan Breton, and so many more.  We're always so lucky to have fabulous photos taken by Mark Rupp and Steve Sorokoff.  I think the one of Joan Crowe (left) is one for the history books!  Looks like she was trying to cool off the crowd!  (Click on Flickr to see more pix!) If you missed us on Monday, you can catch us this coming week - same time, same station!  I'll be there, along with Tedd Firth and Steve Doyle on piano and bass.
If you happen to be in the Los Angeles area, drop by The Hollywood Bowl on June 20! I'll be there singing and dancing myself into a frenzy with the amaZing Liza Minnelli.
If you happen to be in the Los Angeles area, drop by The Hollywood Bowl on June 20!  I'll be there singing and dancing myself into a frenzy with the amaZing Liza Minnelli. It's the Grand Opening Night of their 87th summer series, and Liza will be inducted into their Hall of Fame, which should be pretty exciting. As if that weren't enough, we'll be performing with the 90-piece Los Angeles Philharmonic, Sir James Galway and B. B. King. You know…just another night at The Bowl. And there will be fireworks.

Justin 'Squigs' Robertson is well known in the Los Angeles theatre community for capturing show biz folks in pen and ink, and his acclaim is quickly spreading across the country. He loves sushi. The impressive list of guys and dolls singing show tunes, jazz, pop and all points in between is like no other happening in Manhattan and has evolved into an integral part of New York nightlife – like his wildly popular weekly Cast Party which follows after the show. This talk of the town carnival of talent allows rabid fans to cheer on their favorites up close and personal like: Nancy Anderson, Darius de Haas, Christine Ebersole, Melissa Errico, Sam Harris, Linda Lavin, Christine Pedi and a truckload of other major talents at this legendary jazz club on West 44th.
TheaterMania.com:
"The Party simply glows with New York nightlife ambiance. It feels like a throwback to another era but it has this era's top-notch entertainers dropping in to schmooze, sing, eat, and drink. Caruso consistently provides a flow of exciting singers, and he's definitely hip, cool and classy all by himself."
