What an extravagana Jason Graae brought to the Birdland stage on Monday! His truly hilarious and incredibly sung Graae's Anatomy was cheered on by a packed house that included special musical guests Liz Callaway (left with Jason) and Mary Testa, along with Broadway types Tommy Tune, Ron Raines, Liz Larsen, Ann Hampton Callaway, David Zippel, Peter Sachon, and Forever Plaid creator Stuart Ross. We can't wait for a return visit from Jason and Alex Rybeck, his wonderful musical director!

 The following Cast Party was one of our all-time best. Everyone said so, so who am I to argue? Lari White and Jarod Emick (pictured at left), who starred in the short-lived-but-swell Johnny Cash musical, Ring of Fire, sang, jazz trumpet guy Domenic Farinacci played his heart out, Phoebe Kreutz made us scream with laughter, and the five-person accapella group Clockwork flipped us all out with their extraordinary arrangements and vocals. Add in some beloved regulars, including but not limited to Christine Lavin, Bob Dolphin, Mardie Millett, Hilary Kole, Mark Aaron James, Jenna Esposito, David Goldman and Chris DiCristo, and you got yourself a fantastic evening of music! Check out our Flickr site to see photos of the entire evening. And hey -- let's do it all again on Monday night! Billy Stritch and Wayne Batchelor will be essaying the role of Cast Party Symphony Orchestra, and we hear tell that the cast of Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris will give us a musical sampling of why their show has been so successful. And that takes a lot of Gaul. Get it? Be there so you can French toast the cast, which includes Bob Cuccioli, Constantine Maroulis, Jayne Paterson and Gay Marshall!

 We're so proud to present Tony-winner Cady Huffman in concert on Monday, January 29 at 7pm! The show will be part of our Nightlife Award-winning Broadway at Birdland series, which features top Broadway performers and songwriters at our favorite legendary music room, located at 315 West 44 Street in NYC. Cady Huffman will tell it like it is, from her aspirations to be an operatic soprano - to making her Broadway debut as a drag queen. With songs ranging from Tinpan Alley to rock and roll - and composers from Townsend to Sondheim, Cady will give you what you want and a lot more than you expect! The stage will be awash in special guests to help celebrate Cady's birthday, including Broadway superstar Donna McKechnie, Angie Schworer (The Producers), Emily McNamara and Bryce Ryness. David Brind will Direct and Roger Cohen will Musical Direct the evening.
In 2001, Cady played the role of Ulla in the Broadway musical The Producers, and received the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical. She later appeared as herself in several guest spots on the television show Curb Your Enthusiasm. Ms. Huffman made her film debut in the 1992 film Hero which stars Dustin Hoffman, Geena Davis, and Andy Garcia. She was seen in the 2005 film Romance & Cigarettes starring James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon, Christopher Walken, Kate Winslet and Mandy Moore, and was seen as Dr. Paige Miller on One Life to Live.
