Last week...

Jeff Marx, Benj, Jake and Nick

August 5, 2005

Birdland was crammed with so many funny and even talented people last Monday, that Cast Party went longer than usual. We just couldn't stop! Those two baby divas, Ruby and Ava Lockner (ages 6 and 4) absolutely killed with their renditions of “The Wizard and I” and “Mairzy Doates.” They've retired to Nashville for a while, but we can't wait for their return around the holidays! One of our favorite Tony-winning composers, Jeff Marx (right, with pals Benj, Jake and Nick) was seen lurking/surveying the talent. The Fabulous Pink Flamingos sang a hauntingly Caucasian “Lady Marmelade.” Erich Bergen was the first non-Osmond to sing “Puppy Love” at Cast Party. Erica Ash sang “Fifty Percent,” Natalie Douglas belted “House of the Rising Sun,” Ray Jessell sang about sex and John Wallowitch sang about death. It was just another night. This coming week, I have it on great authority that a big ol' movie star might pay us a visit. Maybe we can get him to dance. Speaking of dancing, Monday is Tapping Bob Dolfin's 81st birthday, and we can't wait to celebrate him in style! If you love Bob (and who doesn't?), come sing him a birthday ditty! Mark Berman and Steve Doyle will make up the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra.

Our much-missed-Judy-singin' Kate Botello has added some new photos to the website all the way from her new home in Michigan. Click and check out who's been hanging out with us on Mondays!
