Last week...

Cast Party Gold Club Members Brian Nash, John Pinckard, AJ Irvin, and Natalie Douglas

May 13, 2005

All Hail the Gods of the Computers! Mr. iBook is back up and running...this time with an attractive external hard-drive attached, so the agony of lost files never happens again. Wasn't life easier when we communicated with tom-toms? Anyway, last week's Cast Party was a ball, with Mark Berman and Steve Doyle making up the Cast Party Symphony Orchestra, and this lapsed Italian learning the meaning of the word 'gavone.' The cast of Musical of Musicals (The Musical) kicked things off with their hilarious Rodgers & Hammerstein send-up, "Corn." Big-time StarSearch winner Jake Simpson (above, with Cast Party Gold Club Members Brian Nash, John Pinckard, AJ Irvin, and Natalie Douglas) wowed everyone with his 3-octave range, Alyson Williams sang the blues, and Bob Dolfin sang and tapped his way through several yards of carpeting. Our youngest, and definitely cutest, Party-er (below) couldn't take her eyes off her jazzy grandma, Lodi Carr, who brought the room to a standstill with her awesome vocals.

Coming up...

Our youngest, and definitely cutest, Party-erIf you don't have reservations for Monday's 7pm Victoria Shaw concert, what are you waiting for? The pop/country songwriter is responsible for over 65 million cd sales! As a singer, she opened for Garth Brooks at the historic 1997 Central Park concert, and also wrote his biggest hit of all-time, "The River." Victoria's show, "Under The Covers," co-stars Mark Hudson, Gary Burr and Billy Mann, who have written some of the biggest hits of all time. Come hear the stories behind the songs! Call the club at 212-581.3080 for reservations. The following Cast Party will be swell, too, with the return of Billy Stritch at the Bosendorfer, and Steve Doyle on bass. We're also looking forward to seeing a bunch of glamour travelers from Tango Diva, who will be celebrating their jetset-ness with us. And we can't wait to see you, too!
