Darius de Haas and Vanessa Williams

February 2, 2006

Did you catch the last newsletter's oh-so-subtle hint about whom Darius de Haas might have as his special guest? Well, Vanessa Williams did indeed sit in with him, duetting on Stevie Wonder's “Send One Your Love” and the great Billy Preston/Syreeta tune, “With You I'm Born Again.” Between Darius' amazing musicianship and voice, awesome players and the superstar glitz, the concert was absolutely historic! The cheering throng included jazz great Andy Bey, Leslie Uggams and The Color Purple's Felicia Fields. We can't wait for the next time Darius de Haas is in da' house. The following Cast Party was a blast, with David Budway on piano, Steve Doyle on bass, and special guest David Meade on drums. It was like real showbusiness! The Lascivious Biddies made their CP debut…and killed the crowd with their great humor and jazz chops. Check out their podcast at biddycast!

Fresh from various Minnelli/Ebersole/Lavin tours, he will be regaling the crowd with stories and ultra-groovy pianistic talents! Hilary Kole will be helping out, and Steve Doyle will be on bass! I wish I could sit in the audience and watch this one! Grab your (upbeat/ perky) sheet music and GO!
