Melissa Errico and Tom Kitt

January 28, 2005

Amanda Green & Tom Kitt jammed the 7pm show at Birdland Monday night with their usual profusion of Broadway swells, including directors Walter Bobbie and Scott Schwartz, composer Jeff Marx, costumer Tony Walton and diva/divo’s like Melissa Errico (with Mr. Kitt at right) and Anthony Barille. Even Hollywood mogul Sidney Lumet showed up to catch an amazing evening of songs written by Kitt & Green, the most waggish duo since…well…Comden & Green. It certainly didn’t hurt to have special guest stars like Brooks Ashmanskas, Mario Cantone, Jenn Colella, Jenifer Foote (pictured with cellist Peter Sachon, below), Harris Doran, Jerry Dixon, Matt McGrath, Julia Murney, Greg Naughton, Matthew Morrison and the Tom Kitt Band on stage to perform the material. Click on Photo Coverage: Kitt and Green heat up Birdland (BroadwayWorld.com) to see some great photos, with many thanks to Craig Brockman! If all that sounds too fun to miss, you’ll be happy to know that you have one more change to catch the concert this coming Monday, January 31st at 7pm. See details below!

After the concert, Cast Party showed an unusually eclectic bunch…we spied downtown performance artistes (and New York Times featured) Murray Hill and Dirty Martini, jazz vocalist and radio host Rebecca Kilgore, and the Drama Desk-winning vocal group, Toxic Audio! The music was sublime and everyone had the time of their lives!
